Valentine’s Day cupcake recipe

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so here’s a simple and delicious recipe to make for that special day. These cupcakes are perfect for any party or to just enjoy at home. 

       This recipe yields 12. For the ingredients you will need 1 and 2/3 cups all-purpose flour (spoon & leveled), 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter (melted), 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup yogurt, 3/4 cup milk, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup red & pink sprinkles.

       To start off, preheat your oven to 350°F and line a muffin tray with 12 cupcake liners. Next, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. In a separate microwave safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave and then add in the sugar and mix. Then you want to let it cool down in the refrigerator for a couple of minutes. After it has cooled, mix in the egg, yogurt, milk, and vanilla extract. Slowly add in the dry mixture and mix until it is smooth. Add in the sprinkles and be sure not to overmix. 

      After the batter has been made, start scooping it into the cupcake liners. Bake for 20 minutes or until fully cooked. You can check this by poking a toothpick in the center, and if it comes out clean, they are ready. 

      For frosting, you can make your own homemade version or buy some from the store. For decorations, adding sprinkles, candy, or a drizzle of some kind are all very fun ideas. These cupcakes are not only delicious, but fun to make and decorate!
